Master Data Science and Artifical Intelligence

We are pleased that you have decided to study for a Master's degree at the University of Hamburg! A few days before the first lectures, there will be some information events for you. They are organised and hosted by students, but are still your first official course in the Master's programme.

The orientation unit (OU) for students of the Master "Data Science and Artifical Intelligence" for the winter semester 25/26 will take place from Monday, Oct 6th, to Thursday, Oct 9th, at the Informatikum in Stellingen.

The OU starts on Monday from 9:30 am on the premises of the Informatikum, with a welcome by a professor from the Department of Informatics. As we are expecting a high number of new students, it is best to come at a random time between 9:30 and 10:30 am. That way, the rush will hopefully never be too big all at once, and we can entertain you until 10:30 am.

As the welcome will take place outside, you should dress appropriately for the weather and bring an umbrella if necessary. At lunchtime, hot food is available in the Mensa at reasonable prices. Lectures start the week after the OU.

During the OU you will get to know your fellow students and learn a lot about the University of Hamburg and Germany in general. You will also get to know the Informatikum. In addition, we will introduce you to the system (STiNE) that you have to use to register for courses and help you to register for the right lectures. Especially during the evening programme, you will have the opportunity to get to know other international and German students. Even if you already have a circle of friends in Hamburg or have already completed your Bachelor's degree at the University of Hamburg, it's still worth it for you.

For the STiNE unit, it is necessary that you bring your STINE login data and the 2FA list. Please also bring tableware (plates, cutlery, cups) for a joint breakfast on Tuesday.
